Wow! It is a beautiful day here in Alabama! Perfect skies and 75 degrees F (24 C).

 

It's so tempting to step outside and enjoy the day and put all my work to rest. Nah…

 

Q : What precise confidence am I missing? What is holding me back from making money online? I am not a stupid person but I am missing knowledge. There is so much information, classes, books, etc, I am spending money on too much crap. I definitely don't lack in focus but I have no direction....again, so much stuff available, how do you determine who can help you best and move forward?

 

A : "…how do you determine who can help you best and move forward?"

 

Questions like that are awesome!

 

It's much better than "how can I make money online?" Which is actually an awful question. In many ways a WRONG question.

 

So…

 

01 :: How do you determine who can help you best?

 

First, find someone you like.

 

You are going to be helped by that person much more than someone you cannot connect with.

 

Internet Marketing, for example, has a host of "gurus." There are only a few that I REALLY like. From that handful I have learned an incredible amount. They have been crucial to my success.

 

Second, find someone who is doing business like you like.

 

Since I love niche marketing and product creation, those are the people I spend the most time and money with. (It's also the type of businesses I operate.)

 

Personally, I spend zero dollars on figuring out how to maximize Facebook. It's not my focus. Could it bring in some money. Yes. But it's not the road I am traveling right now.

 

Who has a business you like? A business you are drawn to?

 

Follow that person. Your success is much more likely doing something you like than something you hate even if you could make money at it. (Which is why so many want to leave their current job!)

 

The BEST person will be the one you like. It will be the one whose business you look at and say, I'd like to operate my business the same way (not necessarily the same niche).

 

02 :: How do you…move forward?

 

The BEST way to move forward is with a coach or a mastermind group.

 

Yes, it is expensive. But really?

 

Let's play – "What's more expensive?"

 

Spending a few thousand to work with a person or group that motivates you?

 

Spending a few thousand on a string of products you do nothing with?

 

Exactly. The second question looks silly, doesn't it?

 

Currently I am part of two mastermind groups. They are awesome! You may have read a couple weeks ago when Yanik Silver challenged a group of us to complete an assignment or we would have to wear a "Borat Suit" to his Underground Online Seminar. Well, we got it done! And it was fun!

 

You would be shocked if you knew the number of "gurus" who are part of these groups. These folks make millions online. But they know who and what is BEST for moving them forward.

 

Success is NOT an Accident!!!

It's Monday!

Most hate it. But when you learn to love in business/work what others hate, you gain an instant advantage.

While everyone is searching for the "do absolutely nothing and make money" secret. As they try as hard as possible to find a fortune while being lazy - if you embrace effort - if you look forward to the challenge, you will immediately pole vault the masses.

"Most people are not willing to do the hard work that makes selling easy," Jeffrey Gitomer.

Q : How do I get people to buy what I am selling? I get decent traffic but almost no sales.

A : Without examining your complete sales process it's impossible to answer specifically. But here are the most common problems, which, if corrected, make an instant impact.

Number 1: Sales Process.

You must have a complete map of each step a potential customer needs to make. One of the first goals is to know how you are “leading” them from the moment a person hits your site.

Take him by the hand the entire way. From squeeze page, to autoresponder series, to sales copy, to your offer, upsells, downsells; you get the idea.

Number 2: Sales Copy

Each product you sell, even affiliate products, should have "go for the jugular" copy. Not manipulative hype. Solid writing - even video - that helps the customer clearly see the possibilities for their lives.

Number 3: Sales-Confidence

Do you believe in your product? Do you believe your market MUST have it?

Confidence in yourself and your product create leverage. Your language and energy shift. Your emails, audios, copy - all become better because you are writing/sharing from being convinced the person NEEDS your product (or the product you are recommending).

Number 4: Sales Assertive

"Take it or leave it" selling works only with a few. People as a whole are scared and indecisive. They need help making the decision. Customers need to know it's safe to take a risk on you.

You not only have to ask for the sale, you just about have to demand it.

How?

Outrageous guarantees, a boatload of bonuses they get to keep. Do what ever you have to so the potential customer KNOWS they come out ahead no matter what!

You must become more aggressive and assertive in your selling. Not belligerent or rude, but you are doing customers a favor. You are helping them when they apply what they buy!

Pricing Levels

"How much should I charge for my product?"

Not as easy a question as it might sound...

1. How is it packaged? (ebook, audio, video, physical product).

2. What is available in the category right now? Make a list of competitive products and do a price model.

3. What's special about it? There's a reason the IPhone costs more than the freebie they give away with the service account.

4. Is there a demand for YOU? This is what can boost your price, your popularity. There are thousands of self-help coaches, but only Tony Robbins can charge millions.

John Reese

Blog Rush (see widget to the right) was released a couple of weeks ago in Beta.

Easy to install and an auto pilot way to get traffic to your blog.

Like anything good and new people tried to treat the system or bash it.

Now here's the lesson...

Even though the widget is free John Reese went back to the drawing board to:

1. Thump the cheaters.

2. Improve the traffic system.

Too often we porduce something and leave it. It could use some improving, but we feel it will get by. Let's take a lesson from Reese and listen to the market and make changes. He didn't HAVE to, he wanted to.

That's the way to serve!

Online Prison Break

The cubical based corporate world is a virtual version of Prison Break. The hit NBC television series follows the lives of inmates who broke out of Fox River Penitentiary and are on the run.

Sure it’s just a show, but there are millions who would love to escape their cubical and work from home. Because of the low barriers to entry many people attempt to make money online. Only to get recaptured and return to the cubical because of failure.

So how can you better your chances for escape?

One: Have a Plan.

You can’t just wake up one day, walk in and quit, and start an online business. It takes planning. A blueprint. A map.

You have to know what market you will serve, the possible income from that market, and a long-term strategy for service and growth.

Two: Face the Challenges


Just like in Prison Break, plans do not go as…planned. There will be unexpected problems. People will fail you, domains will be taken, hosting will go offline. It’s just part of business.

Too many online entrepreneurs see perfection. They see the site, the email list, the sales process, the buyers, and the full bank account. They fail to see the advertising costs, setup fees, education investment and a dozen other areas that are needed to do business successfully online.

Three: Keep Running

Now in its third season the Prison Break boys (and girl) are on the run full throttle.

You can’t coast when making an escape, you have to hustle. Work hard. Push it beyond the limits.

But once again, what happens too often online? People buy into the dream of being lazy and making lots of money. From knowing many of the top online marketers, I can tell you this – they work HARD. They enjoy what they are doing so it doesn’t seem like work, but they are putting out the effort.

Are you wanting to escape from your job? Dreaming of an online business and making money from home? It’s possible, but it’s not as easy as everyone makes it out to be…
Have a plan, face the challenges and keep running if you want to make the great escape!

How to Make a Blog/Forum Post

The #1 complaint I hear with internet marketing and how to make money online is…

“I can’t get the gurus to do a deal for me.”

It’s not what to do, or how to do it, but how and who to partner with.

I’ve joked a lot with IM friends about “The Guru Shield.”

The Shield is the wall or barrier you see come up when trying to talk with someone of status in the make money online field. Often people think they are being rude or arrogant. I really don’t think it’s either.

Here’s what I think it is…

Read the average blog comment or forum post.

How many of those people would you want to meet and spend time with?

Right. Not many.

Yesterday, I was commenting on an internet marketing blog where 90% of the comments were based in ignorance, fear, skepticism or paranoia. While reading I thought about some of the writers, “I wonder if he/she has any friends?”

Not saying that to be mean. I honestly thought that.

Then it spanked me.

These are the people who attend marketing events and want a big time partnership with the gurus. They are the ones looking to build their network.

Well…

It ain’t happening.

If you are wanting to build business relationships. If you are wanting to position yourself in the make money online field then here is one component that can help…

Make forum and blog posts that count. Posts than mean something and make a contribution. Posts that entertain, educate or equip.

Answer this one question after writing your post…

“Would I want to meet me?”

If you read your post and think…

Jerk.

Whiner.

Jealous.

Arrogant.

Know-it-all.

Loser.

Idiot.

Or anything else along those lines, just hit the delete button.

No, everything cannot create intrigue, mystery and a desire to become your closest friend. And it’s fine to post general comments. But avoid anything that’s people repellent.
